We are thrilled to announce that Ghila Sanders has joined the Atlanta Jewish Foundation team as our Senior Philanthropic Officer, leading the development of engagement strategies and stewardship opportunities for fund holders to deepen, maintain, and grow relationships. Ghila comes to us from Roswell Arts Fund, where she served as Executive Director since 2019. Her areas of expertise and passion include community engagement, relationship building, operations management, and strategy.

Born and raised in Rome, Italy, she holds a JD from Universita’ di Roma “La Sapienza,” and an MBA from Georgia State University. Prior to leading the Roswell Arts Fund, Ghila worked at The Breman Museum, where she served in several capacities, leading operations as Interim Executive Director. Earlier, she managed the Programs and Events Department at the Jewish Museum of Rome, Italy.

Ghila is actively engaged in several community organizations, including Congregation Shearith Israel, New American Pathways, and Furnish with Love. She lives in Atlanta, with her husband David and their family.

Ghila adds, “I am delighted to join Atlanta Jewish Foundation and work with this amazing team to connect, engage and grow our community and collective impact. Being in the nonprofit world for the past 15+ years, I have experienced firsthand the transformational power of a solid partnership between philanthropists and community organizations, and I am excited to bring lessons learned to this new role.”

“I come from a family where community service is woven into our fabric, and activism and philanthropy are a way of life. In Italy, my parents were both heavily engaged in Jewish organizations. In fact, my dad at age 91 still serves as a community advisor. His expertise is a huge asset for the community, and in turn the community has given him tremendous purpose. I cannot overemphasize how important this relationship is, and the effect it has on the multiple generations following his lead.”

“The Foundation has a strong legacy and tremendous potential, and it is truly my honor to join this passionate and purposeful team! I’d love to connect with you, please reach out to Ghila Sanders.
