Over the last four years, the LIFE & LEGACY program through Atlanta Jewish Foundation in partnership with the Harold Grinspoon Foundation (HGF) has had a transformative impact on Jewish Atlanta. Not only have Jewish organizations in Atlanta secured over 572 commitments (valued at approximately $36.4M), but the program has moved our community toward a culture of planned giving and increased collaborations. As the four-year program comes to a close, the Foundation is priming to launch a new HGF initiative: LIFE & LEGACY Plus.
“Providing Jewish organizations with a strategy to help secure their long-term financial goals is absolutely vital,” says Harold Grinspoon, founder of HGF. “Supporting our Jewish institutions is critical to ensuring future generations are able to enjoy our rich culture and heritage. I am thrilled that LIFE & LEGACY is motivating donors to make legacy commitments that will sustain vibrant Jewish communities for years to come.”
LIFE & LEGACY Plus is designed to strengthen a culture of philanthropy. Foundation will offer training sessions, support, and incentives to help organizations realize meaningful gifts to protect the investment both HGF and Jewish Atlanta has made in endowment-building to date. This program will further assist organizations in integrating legacy giving into their culture and help ensure that more legacy commitments come to fruition.
Denise McLaughlin, LIFE & LEGACY Chair at Congregation Shearith Israel, says, “I want to thank the Harold Grinspoon Foundation for all it has done for our synagogue community: allowing us to grow, recognize the examples of those before us, and put into motion our plan for an amazing future buttressed by a sustainable and meaningful endowment. As we say in our prayers. ‘L’dor v’ dor nagid gad’lecha.’ Thank you!
Foundation is actively recruiting organizations that want to grow their endowments and ensure their future. Please reach out to Rachel Rosner if you would like more information or to become involved.
